Term 1 2018 - Week 3

Hi everyone,

This week, the children have been looking closely under the leaves of our swan plants to check for little eggs.  One morning, they were very excited to find an egg hanging under one of the leaves.   Over the next few days the children will investigate any changes in the egg.

One of our students kindly donated some caterpillars from home to put on the plants so they can start munching on the leaves.

The children have been busy making a variety of items during our investigation time this week.  Two of our students were very passionate about making their own musical instruments, so they made a drum set using tin cans and a microphone using cardboard and cellophane.

We had so much fun listening to their music and singing while trying to think of a band name!

Another student chose to use tin cans another way, by making
tin can stilts.  He used his balancing skills to walk around the classroom and enjoyed sharing his stilts with his friends.

Take care

Karen & Sarah
